From the Police Log: Cigarette Causes Trash Fire; Woman Arrested After Not Paying Room Service Fees

A cigarette butt caused a fire in a large trash can at East Coast Highway and Goldenrod Avenue on Sunday afternoon.
The incident occurred at 4:13 p.m., and firefighters extinguished the fire and found the butt near the area of origin, said Jennifer Schulz, a Newport Beach Fire Department spokeswoman.

Nine months after opening its doors, a high-end appliance showroom has closed its Corona del Mar business.

CdM Chamber Mixer Scheduled for Tuesday

The Corona del Mar Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Sunset Networking Mixer from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Edward Jones at 2121 East Coast Highway.
