Southern California Edison crews cut power to 1,728 customers this morning after residents reported seeing black smoke pouring from an electrical vault near Old School Park at Fourth and Carnation avenues.

A grand theft from a vehicle was reported in the 300 block of Driftwood Road at 8:51 a.m. Saturday, according to a police report. The theft occurred between 9 p.m. Friday at 7:52 a.m. Saturday, and the loss was $5,709, the report states.
