The 2011 Newport Beach Film Festival begins tonight with the screening of “East Fifth Bliss” and a gala event at Fashion Island.

The festival, which features 350 films from 40 countries, will run through May 5.

Goldenrod Footbridge Repairs Near Completion

Construction on the Goldenrod Footbridge should be finished next week, city officials have said.
Crews were waiting for new base collars for the bridge, and they are expected to take about a week to install.
