Today is N.B. Fire Chief’s Last Day

Newport Beach Fire Chief Steve Lewis’s last day is today after three years leading the fire department.
Lewis, 58, announced his retirement in January, citing health and family concerns. Lewis, a Corona del Mar resident, will continue to live in the village.

Corona del Mar’s most glittery shop has closed permanently, and its owner is nearly finished removing the remaining crystal-covered merchandise.

Police Arrest Irvine Woman In Grand Theft Case

Police have arrested a 19-year-old Irvine woman on suspicion of grand theft, records state.
The woman was arrested at 3 p.m. Tuesday at 701 Newport Center Drive after police say she stole six or seven undergarments, two pairs of jeans, two shirts and several swimsuits, said Sgt. Steve Burdette of the Newport Beach Police Department.
