From the Police Log: Traffic Collisions Galore, Theft Arrest

Newport Beach police kept busy today responding to several reports of traffic collisions in Corona del Mar and Newport Coast, online reports show.

The most serious collision was an injury crash at 5:33 p.m. at Ridge Park Road and Newport Coast Drive; details were not immediately available.

Other collisions that did not result in injuries were reported at 8 p.m. at Seaview and Jasmine avenues and at 5:07 p.m. at East Coast Highway at Poppy Avenue. Police kept the peace after a non-injury crash in the 21100 block of Newport Coast Drive at 3:51 p.m., and a report of a non-injury collision was made and cancelled at 7:39 p.m. in the 3100 block of East Coast Highway, logs show.

Police also received a report at 8:46 p.m. of reckless driving on East Coast Highway at Marigold Avenue, but officers did not locate the driver. And a traffic stop at 2:25 p.m. at Fourth and Iris avenues resulted in a stored vehicle, reports state.

Police also made two arrests today in the Fashion Island area, records state. At 3:17 p.m., a grand theft suspect was arrested in the 600 block of Newport Center Drive, and at 12:03 p.m., a petty theft suspect was arrested in the 100 block of Newport Center Drive.
