Daylight Saving Time begins this Sunday — and Newport Beach firefighters are reminding residents to change their smoke alarm batteries when they move their clocks forward.
According to the fire department, smoke alarms cut the risk of dying in a home fire in half, but batteries need to be changed so the smoke alarms work.
