2. SCAPE Gallery in Corona del Mar is hosting an artists’ reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday as it unveils the latest exhibition — Big Names / Small Works, featuring pieces from 12 artists, each piece smaller than 12 inches. 3. A rainy Saturday doesn’t have to mean being cooped up and bored at home. Head to the Central Library for a family concert performed by the Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra, from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday. (Get there early for the 10:30 a.m. story session if you have younger kids.) The library is located at 1000 Avocado Avenue; click here for more information.

4. Crystal Cove State Park is hosting a Treasure Cove tidepool walk at 2 p.m. Sunday, and a sunset photography walk at 4 p.m. Sunday. The tidepool walk meets at Pelican Point lot #2, and photography walkers meet at Reef Point in the south lot near the restroom. Visit this website for more information.

5. If you’re interested in creating a garden that provides a bounty of veggies, fruits, herbs and more, head to Roger’s Gardens for the latest “My Edible Garden” lecture at 9 a.m. Sunday. Gardener Steve Hampson will lead a discussion about what, where and when to plant, prune, feed and harvest. Roger’s Gardens is located at 2301 San Joaquin Hills Road.
