1. An SUV crashed into the Crystal Lotus psychic shop early Tuesday morning, causing $75,000 in damage and closing East Coast Highway for 90 minutes. The man, 41, of Newport Beach, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Police say before he crashed into Crystal Lotus, he lost control and hit a sign, a brick planter and a tree — then regained control, drove a short distance and left the road again, taking out another sign, tree and bench. 2. Two workers were stuck, dangling from their safety harnesses, when a scaffolding motor malfunctioned at the top floors of a medical building at 1401 Avocado Ave. They were rescued quickly and safely. Read our story here.
