A followup email blast sent to parents throughout Newport Beach and Corona del Mar gives several updates for friends who want to show their respects to Gregory Gladstone, a surfer killed Saturday near 15th Street.
A celebration of Greg Gladstone’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb, 3 at the American Legion Post #291, 215 East 15th Street, in Newport Beach.
The email also states:
“Molly and Tim Britt have set up a website in honor of Greg’s life. It is a wonderful source of information and photographs where friends and family can express condolences and share memories. Please check this site frequently for updates.”
The Greg Gladstone Memorial Paddle Out will take place 4 p.m. Sunday at Ventura’s Marina Park, the email states, and the event will be attended by family, friends, pro-surfers, surf clubs and lifeguards.
A local Newport Paddle Out for Greg will be held at 10 a.m. Feb. 6 at Newport Pier; afterward, there will be a potluck celebration at the grassy park next to the American Legion until about 2 p.m. for all interested, the email states..
“In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the education fund established for the Gladstones’ beloved children, Quinn and Beckett. Please make checks payable to In Memory of Gregory Gladstone and send or deliver them to Jeff Qualey at Andersen Elementary, 1900 Port Seabourne Way, Newport Beach, CA 92660.”
