Bayside Drive Remains Open — For This Week At Least

baysideToday’s Bayside Drive will be delayed at least until early next week, a county official said in an email this morning.

“As you probably guessed or noticed, traffic control wasn’t set up yesterday,” said Daisy Covarrubias, a spokeswoman for the Orange County Sanitation District. “We have to wait for the weather to clear before any set-up is done, at this point it seems early next week is the soonest we can set up the closure.”

The project will close all westbound traffic between El Paseo Drive and Carnation Avenue; eastbound traffic will be reduced to one lane. The lanes will be closed 24 hours, seven days a week, through late April at least. The project includes work on more than 3,000 feet of pipe plus a small city sewer that connects to the trunk line.
