Bayside Drive Closure Set for This Week

Sewer improvements will shut down Bayside Drive until spring, probably beginning Thursday or Friday morning, county officials have confirmed.

The Orange County Sanitation District has obtained permits and will begin traffic control set-ups Wednesday, said Daisy Covarrubias, the district’s public information specialist. Signs warning of the project have been in place for weeks.

The work, which involves more than 3,000 feet of pipe plus a small city sewer, will shut down all westbound traffic between El Paseo Drive and Carnation Avenue. Eastbound traffic will be reduced to one lane.

Construction hours will be from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, although some night work is expected.
