[...] 1. A house on Orchid Avenue burned, causing $150,000 damage, on Wednesday morning. Fire officials say the damage could have been worse had it not been for a Lincoln Elementary schoolteacher who smelled smoke while driving to work, stopped to call 911, then kicked in the door to check if anyone was inside. (No one was.) Read our story here. [...]

It's good to see stories like this. Too often the stories you hear are not "feel good" stories.

Now that's funny Diane... (afraid it was Chronic Tacos)... LOL.

Cheers,

I stepped out my front door (near See's Candy) at 8:30 this morning for only 2 minutes and saw a huge fog bank, but it was the house on Orchid burning down instead (I was only out that moment but my clothes/hair smell like campfire smoke!). I am glad that no one was hurt. I took a walk to see if I could find the burnt remains a few minutes ago (frankly I was afraid it might be Cronic Taco) and could not figure out where the fire had been. Thanks CdmToday for listing it (wow you are fast).
