From the Police Log: Robbery, Vandalism, Keep the Peace

The New Year’s holiday and weekend have brought police to the Corona del Mar area for noisy parties, a few drunk people, a vandalism report and a robbery.

The robbery, which resulted in an arrest, was reported at 3:03 p.m. Friday in the 1600 block of San Miguel Drive, records state. No further details were immediately available.

Police also answered a call to keep the peace at 10:12 a.m. today in the 400 block of Irish Avenue, records state.

Earlier this weekend, police took a vandalism report in the 200 block of Poppy Avenue at 10:36 a.m. Friday. They also responded to a municipal code violation report just before noon Friday in the 4600 block of Wayne Road. They responded to a hit-and-run call at 3:31 a.m. Friday at Newport Coast Drive and Pelican Hill Road, but they were not able to find it.

Most other calls over the weekend involved alcohol and noise, including:

* A party disturbance call at 3:06 a.m. Friday in the 1500 block of Ocean Boulevard.
* A drunk driver arrest at 2:11 a.m. Friday at Newport Coast Drive and San Joaquin Hills Road.
* A party disturbance call at 2:09 a.m. Friday in the 500 block of Carnation Avenue.
* A drunk disturbance at 1:34 a.m. Friday in the 22000 block of Pelican Hill Road.
* A drunk in public report at 12:44 a.m. Friday in the 600 block of Newport Center Drive, which resulted in an arrest.
* Another drunk in public report at 11:07 p.m. Thursday in the 23000 block of Newport Coast Drive, which also resulted in arrest.

Also, at 2:47 p.m. Thursday, police took a petty theft report in the 900 block of Avocado Avenue, records state.
