Changes to Newport Beach’s online payment system requires customers to create a new account by Jan. 31, city officials have said.
“If you do not complete registration by January 31, 2010, you will no longer be enrolled in AutoPay and you will need to make alternative payment arrangements,” city officials said in an email sent to current online customers.
To sign up for the new system, visit the city’s website, click on “online services” and then “online bill pay” and “sign me up.” You will need your Newport Beach identification number and account number as well as a credit card to complete the sign up. City officials said that the old system won’t work after next month, but the new system, which will be available 24 hours a day, will have customer service requests, billing history and statement copies.
Although City Hall will be closed until Jan. 4, the online sign-in will be available.
