Long Lines At Village Post Office

Today is the busiest day of the year, according to the U.S. Postal Service, with more than 830 million pieces of mail entering the system, postal officials say. That’s a 40 percent jump over a normal day.

At Corona del Mar’s post office branch on Orchid Avenue, customers were packing boxes, carrying trays of holiday cards and lining up for as long as a half-hour for service.
