Sunday will bring the 31st Annual Corona del Mar Christmas Walk — complete with a beer garden, balloon artists, stilt-walkers, prizes and more. It also will bring the launch of the new V.I.P. value card program that will let cardholders get special deals from participating Corona del Mar businesses.
The Corona del Mar Business Improvement District voted in October to try to value card program. Local businesses voluntarily can decide to make special offers that will be available to card holders. Businesses can hand out the cards, and cards will be available at the Christmas Walk.
About three dozen businesses already have signed up to participate, offering various discounts and freebies and other special offers. Businesses will be able to change their specials throughout the year; check the Chamber’s website for up-to-date listings of participating businesses.
“There’s been a lot of positive feedback so far,” said Chamber President Linda Leonhard. The B.I.D. board will meet next month to evaluate the program and decide whether to continue it. Read our earlier story here.
The Christmas Walk runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. along East Coast Highway with live music from Pinch Me! and other bands, as well as the fireman’s grill, booths from local businesses and a party atmosphere that has become the village’s main holiday tradition.
