The Newport-Mesa Unified School District is offering free H1N1 flu vaccines until noon today, and a crowd was gathered around the block waiting for a turn. The lines were moving swiftly and apparently there were plenty of shots, according to parents waiting in the line. The district has set up a second day for vaccines on Nov. 18. Today’s vaccines are being given at the Mariners Elementary School multi-purpose room at 2100 Mariners Drive in Newport Beach. The Nov. 18 event will take place at Rea Elementary in Costa Mesa.
