Harbor View’s C-H-A-M-P Makes the Spelling Bee Cut

Harbor View Elementary sixth-grader Claire Robertson, pictured in center, competed in the district spelling bee today. Claire passed the first round, a 22-word written spelling test, then competed in a traditional spelling bee. Claire now moves on to the County Spelling Bee scheduled for February.
The winner of that will head to Washington, D.C. to the National Spelling Bee. A total of 32 students competed today, representing 16 schools. The three finalists will be honored at Tuesday’s Board of Education meeting.
