NBPD Enters Social Network Era

The Newport Beach Police Department has entered the age of social networking, joining Facebook and Twitter and inviting members of the public to follow them beginning Monday.
“The Police Department will be able to post crime prevention information, crime statistics, wanted suspect information and educational videos,” according to a department statement. Officials also plan to use the tools to warn of traffic problems, road closures, community events and more.
