Police responded to at least two calls reporting illegal peddling in Corona del Mar on Thursday evening, records show.
The reports occurred at 6:46 p.m. in the 3100 block of Third Avenue, and at 7:57 p.m. in the 700 block of Poinsettia Avenue.
Earlier this month, City Councilwoman Nancy Gardner told the Corona del Mar Residents Association that she also had been harassed by solicitors. The city attorney is studying whether current city regulations, which allow solicitors to ring bells until 9 p.m., could be changed so they are forbidden after dusk.
Police suggest homeowners put up “No Solicitors” signs in front of their homes. Several Corona del Mar residents have reported more aggressive solicitors ringing their bells lately. Read our earlier story here.
