Topics that affect Corona del Mar residents are included on the agendas of two city meetings scheduled for this week.
Parking in Corona del Mar will be discussed at the Tuesday’s City Council Study Session, scheduled for 3:30 p.m. in Council Chambers. Council members will discuss a 2008 study of parking in the village, along with suggestions that came from the study, including whether there should be permits for residents or meters along East Coast Highway. The item has nearly an hour of time budgeted on the meeting agenda; the council will consider whether to implement measures suggested from the parking study. The meeting is open to the public, who will have a chance to make comments. Read the agenda (which includes a link to the staff report) here.
On Wednesday, the Harbor Commission will meet and discuss an appeal of the decision to grant a dock permit for the Aerie project. That meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Council Chambers. The Harbor Commission approved the dock proposal in a July meeting; read that story here. The next week, City Council members approved the proposed luxury condominium complex in a 4-2 vote. Read that story here. The project, which would replace an apartment complex at Carnation Avenue at Ocean Boulevard, has stirred controversy among neighbors. Read about the controversy here.
