From the Police Log: DUI Arrests, Packages Stolen

Newport Beach police arrested a 21-year-old Newport Beach man early Sunday on suspicion of DUI with a prior, according to a report. The man was arrested at 1:12 a.m. at Marguerite and Second avenues, and his bail was $10,000.

Another man, 23, of Laguna Niguel, was arrested at the same location Sunday on suspicion of disorderly conduct while intoxicated, and his bail was $500.

Police also arrested a 43-year-old Mission Viejo man at 12:19 a.m. Friday at MacArthur Boulevard and San Miguel Drive on suspicion of DUI; his bail was $2,500. Officers arrested a 52-year-old Costa Mesa man at 2:19 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of Hazel Drive on a felony warrant and on suspicion of misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. His bail was $500.

Police took a report of petty theft of mail or packages on Saturday in the 4700 block of Surrey Drive, a report said. The theft, with a $59 loss, occurred between 7:15 a.m. Friday and 12:49 p.m. Sunday. Officers also took a report of misdemeanor vandalism/defacing property in the 100 block of Newport Center Drive on Sunday. The incident occurred between 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. They also took a report of a burglary from a motor vehicle on Friday in the 23000 block of Newport Coast Drive. The burglary occurred between 11 p.m. Dec. 17 and 12:24 a.m. Friday, and the loss was $1,140.
