SHARE THE ROAD. My son, James Moro, has been cycling over 14 years. He is aware of and follows all rules of the road. Wherever a cyclist rides, all vehicles need to be aware and share the road. Consider the difference between a bicycle and a heavy vehicle. The cyclist will always be in harm's way. Except for a lot of luck, I might have lost my son that day. Please consider every rider as you would a pedestrian...look, think, and look again when you are driving. Always SHARE THE ROAD.

Ummm. aren't the engineers driving these fire trucks supposed to be trained to avoid such situations? According to the police investigation, the driver passed the bicyclist in an unsafe manner. Considering the size of the truck, one would think the driver would be skilled enough to avoid such problems.......

Any thoughts on doing a story about how dangerous it is to ride one's bicycle on a street such as PCH? This individual may have been doing everything correctly, however, groups of cyclists every weekend take great risks riding along perpetually busy PCH. Are there not enough other streets to choose for a safer, quieter bike ride?
