The Corona del Mar Residents Association and the Newport Beach Fire Department are holding a Preparedness Expo from 5:30 to 7:30 tonight at the Sherman Library and Gardens. Every resident of Corona del Mar is invited to learn more about how to prepare for natural disasters, organizers said.

The first hour will feature refreshments and information tables, where residents can learn about emergency supply kits, household safety and fire prevention information. The second hour will feature speakers including Fire Marshal Steve Bunting, Community Preparedness Coordinator Matt Brisbois and fire officials from the Corona del Mar station. Fire officials will discuss emergency situations that Corona del Mar could face as well as the new wildfire safety program called Ready, Set, Go — read more about that program here.

Sherman Library and Gardens is located at 2647 East Coast Highway; use the rear entrance for the Expo. For additional information, call (949) 644-3112 or visit the Corona del Mar Residents Association website. Membership to the CdMRA is $20 a year.
