Newport Beach police took several reports of thefts in the past week, according to incident logs.
A petty theft with a $300 loss was reported at 8112 East Coast Highway at 8:49 a.m. Sunday, a report said. That theft occurred sometime after 8:30 a.m. Saturday, the report said.
Police also took a report of a petty theft at Macy’s at 101 Newport Center Drive at 3:29 p.m. Saturday. The theft, with a $25 loss, occurred between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday. Police also took a report of a petty theft from a vehicle at 3:26 p.m. Friday at 240 Newport Center Drive. The theft, with a $201 loss, occurred between 12:05 and 1:15 p.m. Friday, a report said. A petty theft with a $408 loss was reported at 3:45 a.m. Friday at 900 Newport Center Drive. The theft occurred between 2 a.m. 3 a.m. Friday, a report said. A grand theft from a vehicle also was reported at 15 Canyon Peak at 4:11 p.m. Friday. The theft, with a loss of $920, occurred between 4 p.m. Thursday and 6:30 a.m. Friday, a report said.
Police took a report of vandalism in the 23000 block of Newport Coast Drive at 5:30 p.m. April 8. The vandalism, which caused $690 damage, occurred between 5:30 p.m. April 5 and 7:30 a.m. the next day. Police also arrested a 22-year-old San Rafael man at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Marguerite Avenue and East Coast Highway on suspicion of appropriation of lost property valued at less than $400; bail was $500, according to a report.
