The City of Newport Beach has issued a public notice of a March 14 Zoning Administrator hearing for a wine tasting room planned for Corona del Mar.

The Orange Coast Winery is seeking a minor use permit to open a retail store that specializes in wine and wine-related products, according to the notice.

The wine tasting room will be located at 3734 East Coast Highway in the former John Blom photography studio; read our earlier story here. The business is 1,420 square feet, and the request includes a 170-square-foot tasting area with eight seats. No late hours after 11 p.m. are proposed, the notice states.

The hearing will begin at 3:30 p.m. in the old City Council Chambers at 3300 Newport Boulevard. The public may attend and comment.

The Orange Coast Winery applied to the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control for a license for the Corona del Mar tasting room on Feb 8., and the permit is still pending, the ABC website states; read our earlier story here.
