The Corona del Mar High School Human Relations Council will host a free screening of the film “Behind the Orange Curtain” on Feb. 27 at Harbor Day School, according to a PTA email announcement.

The film, which examines prescription drug abuse in Orange County, won best documentary feature at the Metropolitan Film Festival of New York City last year, and was a Newport Beach Film Festival official selection of 2012, according to the film’s website.

“This film’s goal is to open our eyes, all of our eyes to the tragedies occurring every day – here in Orange County and throughout the United States,” the website states.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring the executive producer and guests, the PTA email said.

Harbor Day School is located at 3443 Pacific View Drive. Students are asked to arrive by 6:30 p.m. Corona del Mar High School students also will receive two hours of community service for their participation.

The movie’s trailer can be seen here.
