Spartans Win League; Remain Undefeated

The Spartans Boys 3/4th grade team won the Newport-Mesa National Junior Basketball regular season title last week after remained undefeated at 10-0 and beating two top-ranked teams, the Magic and the Celtics in consecutive weeks. Luke Barnes, Augie Neubauer, Christopher Dolak, Matt Neiger, Travis O’Neil, Luke Redoutey, Adam Casler and Jordan Stucki came together as a team and worked hard every week to cap a fantastic regular season run.
The team was led by the high-scoring backcourt of Barnes, Stucki and Neiger, while Neubauer, Dolak and O’Neil dominated the paint leading the team in rebounding, blocks and steals. Casler and Redoutey were pure energy all season and played excellent defense.
The Spartans will face the league’s best teams in the 4th Annual Newport-Mesa NJB City Championship next weekend in a single-elimination, winner-take-all tournament in Newport Beach.
