A 54-year-old Huntington Beach man remains in jail after a robbery was reported at Macy’s on Monday morning.
Larry Scott Burnett was arrested at 10:45 a.m. Monday at 101 Newport Center Drive, according to a report. Police online logs state a robbery was reported at 10:34 a.m.
“Suspect Burnett was observed by Loss Prevention officers inside Macy’s taking property,” said police spokeswoman Kathy Lowe in an email. “When he attempted to leave the store he was contacted by Loss Prevention officers and an altercation ensued.”
Burnett’s bail is $50,000, according to the report and online jail records.
In other police news, officers arrested a 41-year-old Costa Mesa man at 1:56 a.m. Monday at El Paseo and Bayside Drive on suspicion of obstructing an officer, according to a report. Bail was $15,000.
Police arrested a 21-year-old Lake Forest woman on suspicion of DUI at MacArthur Boulevard and East Coast Highway at 7:59 p.m. Monday. Her bail was $2,500. Officers also took a report of a petty theft at the Pelican Grill on South Pelican Hill Road at 3:45 p.m. Monday. The theft occurred between 12:45 p.m. and midnight Jan. 12 with a $25 loss, according to a report.
Police arrested a 49-year-old Newport Beach woman at 9:37 p.m. Sunday at 2441 East Coast Highway on suspicion of defrauding an innkeeper; bail was $500. Officers also took a report of a petty theft at 3901 East Coast Highway at 4:45 p.m. Sunday. The theft occurred between 7 p.m. Jan. 11 and 3 p.m. Jan. 12 with a $750 loss, according to a report.
