A residential burglary resulted in a loss of $12,565 on Cambria Drive, according to a police report. The burglary occurred between 8 a.m. Dec. 7 and 6:30 p.m. Dec. 15 and was reported Dec. 20, the report said. No other information was immediately available.
Police also took a report of a grand theft from a vehicle at 23000 Newport Coast Drive at 12:15 p.m. Dec. 22. The theft occurred between 10:30 a.m. and noon Dec. 22 and resulted in a loss of $11,750, a report said.
A commercial burglary at 844 Avocado Ave. occurred at 3:49 a.m. Monday and was reported a minute later, but the loss and damage costs were unknown, a report said. Police also took a report of a vehicle burglary at 401 Newport Center Drive at 11:40 p.m. Sunday. The burglary occurred between 1 and 10:40 p.m. that day, and the loss was $2,625, the report said. Officers took a report of a grand theft in the 500 block of Iris Avenue at 5:56 p.m. Dec. 22. The theft occurred between Nov. 21 and Dec. 22 with a $3,000 loss.
Officers took a report of a theft from a vehicle at 23000 Newport Coast Drive at 12:44 p.m. Dec. 22. The theft occurred between 6 p.m. Dec. 21 and noon Dec. 22 with a loss of $1,080. Officers also took a report of an attempted residential burglary in the 2600 block of Blue Water Drive at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 21. The incident occurred between 4 p.m. Dec. 21 and 2 p.m. Dec. 21. There was no reported loss, but the incident caused $200 in damage, a report said.
Online police logs also show two recent reports of shots fired in Corona del Mar. One incident occurred at 1:54 a.m. Thursday in the 400 block of Carnation Avenue, and another incident occurred at 6:24 a.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of Heliotrope Avenue. In both cases, online logs state that responding officers were not able to locate anything suspicious.
Police also received a report of vandalism at 3:02 p.m. Thursday in the 3100 block of East Coast Highway, online logs state. Officers made an arrest after a report of a petty theft in progress at 11:28 a.m. Thursday in the 800 block of Avocado Avenue, online logs state.
Officers took a report of a petty theft at 9:48 a.m. Thursday in the 4500 block of Brighton Road, and they took another report of a vehicle burglary at 9:07 a.m. Thursday in the 600 block of Dahlia Avenue, online logs state.
