From the Police Log: $7,382 in Items Stolen From Car

A grand theft from a vehicle at 849 Newport Center Drive on Monday resulted in the loss of $7,382 worth of items including computers and jewelry, police said.

The theft occurred between 12:30 and 2:15 p.m. Saturday, according to a report. There were no signs of forced entry into the vehicle, although the victim told police she was fairly certain she’d locked it.

The thief stole a Mac Book Pro, three iPads, an iPhone and a backpack that contained items including two necklaces and a pair of earrings.

Police also arrested a 52-year-old Costa Mesa woman at 3:48 p.m. Monday on suspicion of receiving stolen property at Ocean Boulevard and Heliotrope Avenue, a report said. Bail was $20,000. Police also took a report of a commercial burglary at 1103 Newport Center Drive at 9 p.m. Monday. The burglary, which resulted in a loss of $888, occurred between 3 and 4 p.m. that day, a report said.
