Great photo! As a longstanding parent volunteer and PFO Board Member at Harbor View, I would like to correct the record on budgets and school fundraisers at our school. The Jog A Thon never "paid for a P.E. Teacher". For the record, the dollars raised at Harbor View fundraisers go into a general fund and are not earmarked for any specific teachers or programs. If one wanted to split hairs, you could state that in a down economy several years ago, the PFO backed bringing in the Jog A Thon event as an extra fundraiser so as to jumpstart fundraising earlier in the school year. Due in large part to the success of the Jog A Thon and our Partners in Excellence campaign , the PFO was able to move forward with its budget commitments for that school year. I love the Jog A Thon event for an elementary school setting! It has been the perfect fit for our community. Jog A Thon connects businesses, families, students and staff with a positive character building challenge. We set goals, we strive to do our best and we have fun! (I am assuming the Gatorade shower was fun for Principal Schmidt?) Regards, Adriana Fourcher VP Finance, HVPFO
