Corona del Mar High School and Middle School have formed new skate teams, and a parent meeting is scheduled today for those with students interested in joining.
The meeting will be held in the school’s computer lab from 5 to 7 p.m., according to an email blast.
The 2013 skate team season begins in January, and practices will begin in December. The teams are co-ed, and four spots are open on the middle school team and six spots are open on the high school team.
“This season CdM Middle & High School teams will compete against 15 other Orange County school skateboarding teams,” the email said. “School team champions will be announced in late April and individual finalists from OC and San Diego schools will compete at the finals the last week of April.”
Parents must attend a meeting; if you can’t attend the meeting today, another parent meeting will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 28 at the Costa Mesa High School library/computer lab.
The season opener will take place Friday Jan. 25 at the Quicksilver Headquarters Private Indoor Park.
