Newport Beach police took reports of two vehicle burglaries in the Fashion Island area on Sunday afternoon.
One incident occurred at 620 Newport Center Drive between 4:10 and 4:12 p.m. and was reported at 4:15 p.m. The loss in that burglary was unknown, and damage was $200, a report said. The other incident occurred in a parking structure at 601 Newport Center Drive between noon and 4 p.m. Sunday and was reported at 4:35 p.m. There was no loss and $150 in damage, according to a report.
A petty theft from a vehicle was reported at 8:50 a.m. Friday in the 400 block of Goldenrod Avenue. The theft of $5 occurred between 5 p.m. Thursday and 8:15 a.m. Friday, a report said. Another petty theft was reported at 11:43 a.m. Friday at 3500 Pacific View Drive. The incident occurred between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 5:30 p.m. Thursday with a $4 loss. A grand theft from a vehicle was reported at 7:26 a.m. Friday in the 400 block of Heliotrope Avenue, a report said. The burglar entered an unlcoked car between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday, and the loss was $2,000.
Two men were arrested on suspicion of battery within a few minutes of each other Saturday afternoon near Fashion Island, reports said. A 49-year-old Laguna Niguel man was arrested at 3 p.m. Saturday at 1121 Newport Center Drive, and a 52-year-old Newport Beach man was arrested at3:15 p.m. Saturday 1101 Newport Center Drive. Bail for each was $500.
A 51-year-old Laguna Beach man was arrested at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at 3000 Fifth Ave. on suspicion of public nudity; bail was $50. A 39-year-old Newport Beach man was arrested on suspicion of violating his parole at 11:30 p.m. Friday at 400 Jasmine Avenue, a report said. A 36-year-old Santa Ana man was arrested at 2:09 p.m. Sunday at 900 Newport Center Drive on suspicion of impersonating another person; bail was $20,000, a report said.
Police took a report after a traffic collision with injuries occurred at 12:07 p.m. Friday in the 1400 block of Avocado Avenue, online logs state. Police also received a report of a battery in the 3200 block of East Coast Highway at 3:53 p.m. Thursday, logs state.
