From the Police Log: Counterfeit Bill, Petty Theft

Newport Beach police took a report of someone passing a counterfeit bill at Crown Ace Hardware in Corona del Mar, according to a report.
The incident occurred between 4 and 6 p.m. Sunday at the store at 3107 East Coast Highway, the report said. The loss was $100.
Police also took a report of a petty theft at 2676 San Joaquin Hills Road at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. The theft occurred between 9 p.m. Sunday and 8:30 a.m. Monday, and the loss was $250, a report said.
