Newport Beach police took a report of vehicle vandalism in the 500 block of Begonia Avenue at 5:50 p.m. Saturday, according to a report.
The incident occurred between 4 p.m. Oct. 9 and 4:45 p.m. Saturday and caused $2,000 in damage, the report said.
Police also took a report of an attempted residential burglary in the 4500 block of Roxbury Road, a report said. The incident, which caused $350 in damage, occurred between 7:26 p.m. and 10 p.m. Friday and was reported at 12:12 a.m. Saturday. The damage was caused when the suspect tried to pry open a door.
The attempted burglary was the second incident this fall in the Cameo Shores neighborhood. In late September, another attempted burglary was reported on Tremont Lane; read our story here. Police reports did not indicate the two incidents were related.
Police also arrested a 49-year-old Irvine man on suspicion of making criminal threats at 10:10 p.m. Sunday on De Anza Drive, according to a report.
