The Newport Beach Police Department is seeking the public’s help in collecting information about a Lexus SUV driven by a Newport Coast man last week when he was arrested and booked on suspicion of homicide.
Peter Chadwick, 48, was arrested Thursday in San Diego and is currently in the Orange County Jail. Police were called to the home of Chadwick and his wife, Quee “Q.C.” Chadwick, on Wednesday when a neighbor called, concerned no one had picked up the couple’s children from school.
Police went to the couple’s home on Almanzora in Newport Coast and found evidence of a struggle and possible foul play. Newport Beach police began searching for the couple. Chadwick contacted San Diego police the next day and was arrested. Q.C. Chadwick is believed to be a victim of homicide, but her body has not been found.
Police say that Peter Chadwick was driving a champagne colored 2003 Lexus SUV when he was arrested, and they are asking for anyone who may have seen the car between Wednesday Oct. 11 and 5:30 a.m. Thursday Oct. 12 to call with information.
Police released a photo of a similar vehicle, which is not the actual car Chadwick was driving. Police are not searching for his car but rather for information about the crime, said Kathy Lowe, a police department spokeswoman.
Anyone with information is asked to call (800) 550-NBPD or (800) 550-6273. You may remain anonymous.
The couple’s children were unharmed, Lowe said previously.
