Thieves broke into an apartment in the 300 block of Marguerite Avenue earlier this month, stealing $6,850 worth of property, police records state. The man reported the crime Friday but said it occurred between then and July 13; the suspect apparently entered the house through an open window and ransacked it, reports state.

Also on Friday, a woman in the 200 block of Evening Canyon Road reported that a burglar took a purse from her unlocked car. The purse contained credit cards, identification and other papers, police said. The loss was $1,601.
And Newport Beach man told police that suspects entered his car, stealing items, in the 600 block of Newport Center Drive sometime between 4:50 and 6 p.m. Friday.

About 10 p.m. Sunday, police arrested two men on suspicion of disorderly conduct while intoxicated at Bandera restaurant at 3101 East Coast Highway, arrest logs show. One man, 47, was from Fullerton and the other, 26, was from Garden Grove; both had bail set at $500. At 2:45 a.m. Saturday, a 21-year-old Buena Park man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol at Newport Coast Drive and East Coast Highway; his bail was set at $2,500.

Also, a suspect used spray pain to write “DAK” and other illegible words in large, gang-style writing on a hotel parking structure wall at the Newport Beach Marriott at 900 Newport Center Drive; the vandalism occurred between midnight and 6 a.m. Sunday./
