Firefighters throughout Orange County, including at the Corona del Mar fire station on Marigold Avenue, participated in a remembrance ceremony this morning to pay tribute to the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.

Shortly before 9 a.m., firefighters moved trucks outside fire stations, then just after 9 a.m., a radio call from the Orange County Fire Authority ordered all firefighters to attention.

At the Corona del Mar station, three firefighters saluted during a moment of silence that concluded at 9:11 a.m.

Flags at the station and throughout the nation are at half staff today.

Flags also have been placed around the Corona del Mar dolphin topiaries in the Marguerite Avenue median on East Coast Highway.

Harbor View Elementary School students will hold a Flag Deck ceremony on Wednesday that will include patriotic songs, said Cynthia Dickinson, Parent Faculty Organization co-president.
