Our reader comment of the week this week came from TK, writing in response to a story about mystery noises — possibly fireworks — that prompted calls to police late Tuesday and early Wednesday.
TK wrote, “My wife and I were out for a walk a week ago around 6PM and were going up Marguerite when an older SUV (white 90’s Explorer) drove down 3rd and threw a string of firecrackers out the window. Not the same loud booms as I heard last night but this may very well all be the work of one group of people.
“I heard the two booms last night as well. Seems like the sound carried all across CdM if we’re hearing reports from Five Crowns all the way up to where we live.”
The incident was the third time since May that Corona del Mar residents reported hearing similar noises in the middle of the night.
