A garage burglary was reported at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of White Cap Lane, online police logs state. The burglary occurred between noon July 25 and noon Aug. 1, when a suspect entered the garage and took several boxes of china, said Newport Beach Police Department spokeswoman Kathy Lowe in an email. The china was worth $6,171, she said. It is not known how the burglar entered the garage.
Police also arrested three people at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday at 1141 Newport Center Drive on suspicion of burglary. A 22-year-old Rancho Cucamonga woman, a 22-year-old Duarte man and a 23-year-old Fontana man each were booked on suspicion of burglary with bail for each $20,000, according to arrest reports. The suspects were arrested after trying to buy items at Neiman Marcus with forged credit cards that were declined, Lowe said.
Police also arrested a 46-year-old Fullerton man at Newport Center and Farallon drives on suspicion of disorderly conduct while intoxicated, an arrest report states. Bail was $500.
A residential burglary occurred on Sailview in Newport Coast during a move, police said. The burglar occurred between 5 p.m. Aug. 16 and 6 p.m. Sunday. The loss was a diamond ring valued at $165,000 and a Cartier watch valued at $10,000, Lowe said.
