Along with the big waves (up to 25 feet at The Wedge), high tide was higher than normal, limiting the amount of beach for visitors at Little Corona Beach on Friday afternoon. The tide reached its highest point about 12:30 p.m., when visitors were pushed onto the pathway leading to the beach and only a few swimmers dared to dabble in the choppy water. Corona del Mar Today is trying to learn details of one swimmer injured at The Wedge. Hundreds of spectators have been watching the waves, which are expected to be big throughout Sunday.
