From the Police Log: Indecent Exposure Arrest, Residential Burglary Reported

A 58-year-old San Juan Capistrano man was arrested Monday afternoon at Pirates Cove beach on suspicion of indecent exposure, police said.

The incident occurred at 3:27 p.m. when several witnesses reported that the man removed his bathing suit and exposed himself, said Kathy Lowe, a Newport Beach Police Department spokeswoman, in an email.

Police also took a report on Monday of a residential burglary in the 4800 block of Surrey Drive with a loss of $3,200. The burglary occurred sometime between 8:30 a.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Monday. The burglar entered the home through an unlocked window and stole two laptops, Lowe said.

Police also took a report of grand theft at 11:22 a.m. Monday in the 500 block of Newport Center Drive, online logs state. The theft occurred between 1:30 p.m. Aug. 18 and 6 a.m. the next day, when an unknown suspect accessed a safe inside a business and took $2,190, Lowe said.
