Pen on Fire Salon Scheduled for July 17

The Pen on Fire writers’ salon series will feature acclaimed novelist Jess Walter at 7 p.m. Tuesday July 17.
The event will be the only Orange County appearance for Walter, whose new novel “Beautiful Ruins” is on the Los Angeles Times bestseller list, said organizer Barbara DeMarco-Barrett. Walter and DeMarco-Barrett will discuss the book as well as the craft of novel writing.
The salon will be held in the SCAPE Gallery at 2859 East Coast Highway. Tickets are $25 and include refreshments.
There will be a Q&A session, and Laguna Beach Books will have authors’ books for sale so you can have them signed.
Walter also wrote the national bestseller “The Financial Lives of the Poets.” He lives in Spokane, Wash. with his family.
