From the Police Log: Alcohol-Related Arrests, Petty Theft From Vehicle

Newport Beach police arrested a 56-year-old Mission Viejo man at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Acacia Avenue and East Coast Highway on suspicion of disorderly conduct while intoxicated, a report states. His bail was $500. Police also arrested a 43-year-old Tioga, N.D. man on suspicion of DUI at 10 p.m. Tuesday at East Coast Highway and Orchid Avenue; bail was $2,500.

Police took a report of a petty theft from a vehicle in the 600 block of Poppy Avenue at 10:14 a.m. Tuesday, according to a report. The theft, with a $23 loss, occurred between noon Monday and 10 a.m. Tuesday, the report states.

Police responded to two non-injury traffic collisions within eight minutes this morning. At 11:48 a.m., a collision was reported at Crown Drive and San Joaquin Hills Road, and at 11:56, another crash was reported at MacArthur Boulevard and East Coast Highway, online logs state. Another non-injury traffic collision occurred at 5:38 p.m. Tuesday at Avocado Avenue and East Coast Highway, logs state. And a traffic collision with city property occurred at 11:15 a.m. today at Newport Center Drive and Corporate Plaza.

Police took a commercial burglary report at 9:32 a.m. today in the 100 block of Dahlia Avenue, online logs state. And officers were called to keep the peace at 10:23 a.m. today in the 3500 block of Fifth Avenue, and at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday in the 700 block of Jasmine Avenue, online logs state.
