five crowns1. The new Harry Potter movie has been released, but if you’re a true fan of the English wizard world, why stop with a book or a film? Head to Five Crowns Restaurant, where a three-course price-fixed Harry Potter meal is being served now until the end of the month. Your meal will begin with Broomstick Salad (julienned vegetables and ranch dressing); then you’ll have a choice of shepherd’s pie or Toad and Pigeon in the Hole (sausage and chicken in Yorkshire pudding with peas and onion gravy). For dessert, you can have strawberry trifle or warm Chocolate Frog with Nuts and Caramel (chocolate chip cookie-cake with pecans). But what fun would this be without bottomless glasses of Butterbeer or Pumpkin Juice (cream soda and butterscotch syrup; apple juice with pumpkin puree)? The Harry Potter meals cost $28 for adults and $16 for kids 12 and under, plus tax and tip. Five Crowns is located at 3801 East Coast Highway; call (949) 760-0331 for more information or to make a reservation.

2. Starting right now, the Wine Gallery is hosting a tasting with Andrew Hoxsey, a Napa vineyard owner and 2009 Napa Grower of the Year by the Napa Valley Grapegrowers. Call (949) 322-1237 for more information. Until 7 p.m. Friday.

4. Sunday is National Ice Cream Day — who needs a better excuse to head to the Shake Shack? Or make a homemade batch of Tin Roof? Or just hit the grocery for a pint or two or three of your favorites?

5. Need a little love in your life? Check out a possible pet at the Three Dog Bakery in the Corona del Mar Plaza, where from 10 until about 3, animal rescuers will hold a pet adoption fair.
