From the Police Log: Burglary on Poppy, Attempted Boat Burglary

A residential burglary occurred earlier this week in the 300 block of Poppy Avenue, according to a police report.

The burglary, reported at 10:23 a.m. Tuesday, occurred between 3 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, a report said. The amount of the loss was not listed, but a checkbook and laptop were missing, police said.

According to a police Nixle alert, the suspect entered the home through an unsecured bedroom window, then took the items and fled out the kitchen door.

Police also took a report of an attempted boat burglary in the 1600 block of Bayside Drive, a report said. The incident occurred between 11:30 p.m. May 12 and 6:30 p.m. May 17. No loss was listed on the report, but damage in the incident was $5,000.
