Newport Beach police took a report of an attempted residential burglary at 10:12 a.m. Saturday, according to a report.
The incident occurred sometime between 10 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of Dolphin Terrace, the report said. Nothing was taken, but a screen was ripped. The report said damage to the screen was $15.
In other police news, officers took a petty theft report at Corona del Mar High School at 3:30 p.m. Saturday. The theft, with a $200 loss, occurred between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Friday, the report said.
Officers took a report of vandalism at 1:36 p.m. Saturday. The incident, which caused $400 damage, occurred between 7 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday. They also took a report of a grand theft at 7:06 p.m. Friday at 881 Newport Center Drive. The theft occurred between noon and 6:30 p.m. Friday, and no loss was listed on the report.
Police arrested a 57-year-old San Clemente man at 6:27 p.m. Saturday at East Coast Highway and Reef Point Drive on suspicion of disorderly conduct; bail was $500. Officers arrested a 19-year-old Covina man at 4:40 p.m. Friday at 701 Newport Center Drive on suspicion of petty theft; bail was $500. Police arrested a 25-year-od man from Mohegan Lake, N.Y., at 1:15 am.. Sunday at 23000 Newport Coast Drive on suspicion on battery. Bail was $500. And police arrested a 36-year-old Newport Beach man at 8:45 a.m. Sunday at 1 San Joaquin Plaza on suspicion of possession of controlled substance paraphernalia; bail was $500.
