Newport Beach is looking for residents who can attend at least seven meetings to consider possible updates to the City Charter, according to a news release sent today.
The Charter Update Committee will be comprised of seven members of the public who will be appointed by the City Council, the release says. The charter updates could be placed on the Nov. 6 ballot.
The committee will complete its work by July.
“If appointed, committee members must make every effort to attend meetings on May 24, May 31, June 7, June 14, June 21, June 28, July 5 or other dates scheduled by the committee,” the news release says.

The application deadline is 10 a.m. May 21, and committee appointments are scheduled to be made at the May 22 City Council meeting.
