About 20 members of the 99 Percent Coalition group are staging a protest in front of Corona del Mar’s Bank of America, waving signs and addressing passersby with a microphone.

The protest was scheduled to run from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. as part of a nationwide group of protests against Bank of America branches, organizers said.

“We are standing in solidarity with protesters at the Bank of America annual shareholder meeting in Charlotte, North Carolina,” an email about the event said. “We are protesting at B of A branches across the country to demand that CEO Bryian Moynihan hears that the 99% wants Bof A to do more to help homeowners avoid foreclosure, get its money out of politics and invest its profits in USA, to help rebuild the economy that bailed them out.”

Some cars honked as they drove past the branch at 3300 East Coast Highway.

These protesters should be protesting the 1000th of one percenters who make up our congress. It's these 500 or so americans who have sold the american people down the river with their politics. This entitled group has created their own compensation, retirement pension program, heath care benefits, unlimited travel, over spending policies, while many americans cannot afford health insurance, bear the burden of onerous income tax policies, absorb failed war mongering, bogus unemployment estimates, face unemployment or underemployment. Their politics serve them as politicians. They are professionals at getting and staying elected while failing to lead.

They would be better off pulling any accounts from B of A over to smaller banks or credit unions and when asked why, say it's because of the way they won't help homeowners modify, etc..... Who cares about a sign?
